There is something ultimately romantic about a New Year’s Eve wedding. With the clock striking twelve you begin your new life together. It’s also the perfect night for a glamorous evening reception. And where better than the stunning London wedding venue Banking Hall? We love Banking Hall for it’s timeless style, and it seems we’re not the only ones!
Yuji and Stephen tied the knot on New Year’s Eve in a London wedding that drips with classic details and a serious sense of occasion. Captured by the supremely talented Nick Ray – this wedding is definitely show-stopping!
Also, just look at that croquembouche! Such a great alternative if you are not a cake couple – and what is not to love about profiteroles held together by caramel!
The newlyweds had this to say about their dream wedding:
“We chose the Banking Hall initially because of the stunning venue, but in the end we were most impressed with the team’s hands-on approach to helping us plan and manage the event from start to finish. Our guests raved about the sweeping staircase, the sleek long tables, the hot buttered rum (some have even asked how it’s made), the winter cocktails in copper mugs, the steak, the lighting, and the list goes on and on. If you are looking for a venue that is not only a visual feast but also comes with a team that will help you design and run everything, this is the place to go!”
We spoke to Rebecca at Banking Hall about the rise in popularity of New Year’s Eve weddings:
“To host a wedding at New Year’s Eve is to host an event that spans two years. It is to not only enjoying the accumulative trends of the year passed but to have the opportunity to decide them for the year to follow; to have all the insights gathered from one year and the excitement and buzz for all the things to come. As we are entering the New Year inspiring and innovative celebrations are taking place and evolving with each passing day and we can all benefit from them.
At Banking Hall we like to keep our ear to the ground, whether it’s our warming winter cocktails, our extensive range of in-house spirit infusions or our meals, meticulously crafted, at the deft hands of Lucas Gardiner. All of this is housed between the spiralling marble columns of our Grade II listed main hall which perfectly framed an elegant dinner come dance this most recent passing of the calendar year.
Our wedding package ensured that Yuji and Stephen’s fairy tale marriage didn’t end at midnight, but, with the aid of our extended license, saw them dance merrily ever after until two am! The other perks of a New Year’s Eve wedding are having an anniversary that is not only a fun sense of occasion but absolutely unforgettable.
Their guest’s watched as our suspended clock propelled them into the New Year and with their package including a DJ they did so alongside hip-bumping hens and strutting stags, indicative of the perfect year to follow.”
